Often there are times that I need to rush for meeting or other place in my company and I will have to left my lappy (laptop) in my work desk and go in a hurry manner. With that situation sometimes I forgot to lock the computer or just let the Windows do the job by automatically lock it for me.

The usual or norm way for every window user is to press CRTL + ALT + DEL button to lock the computer. There is another shorter way to do it. The way I call it a Lean Way !

I think most of people known the short cut of locking the computer. A short cut can be create at your windows desktop and with double click at the icon, it will goes to automatically lock.

To create a shortcut on your desktop to lock your computer:

  1. Right-click at the desktop.
  2. Point to New
  3. Click on Shortcut.
  4. In the text box, type the following --> rundll32.exe user32.dll, LockWorkStation
  5. Click Next
  6. Enter a name for the shortcut. You can put it "Lock Workstation" or choose any name that you like. I put it as "Lock Me now"
  7. Click Finish
And now you have the shortcut in your desktop!

You can also change the icon of your shortcut too.

  1. Right click the shortcut
  2. Select Properties
  3. Click the "Shortcut" tab
  4. Click the Change Icon button
  5. At the Look for icons in the file text box, type in Shell32.dll
  6. Click OK
  7. Select your favourite icons
  8. Click OK
This is my Icon in my lappy

Lean way of locking my computer in a hurry!

With my previous blog absence from www space. I have to redo again my shack setup. Previous I did blog about my equipment, antenna and others that related to my shack.

Here is the start of it.

I brought this antenna from mdeltaloop website and deliver it to me. They call it 10M Single Element Delta Loop with balun. The dimension of the loop is 1 lambda. With the 1lambda throw in, I'm surprise with the performance of the antenna. Total of 31 contact that I have made so far with using this antenna despite with condition of the propagation is not favorable. The amount that I fork out from my wallet, give me a big smile from my wallet. It doesn't burn a big hole for my money to drop every time I top up when there is no more money. Great!

The balun able to support up to 200W and I don't have any equipment to shot out 200W further more my license does not permit me use that amount of the power. What ever level of my power that pump into this antenna, the SWR reads out fall at region of 1.3 ~ 1.4.

For more about this antenna you can email to them - mdeltaloop@gmail.com and visit their website www.mdeltaloop.com

Next is my unit!

FT-900 Yaesu, this is the unit that I brought it back during my visit to Japan last year. This unit belong to JR1WZI - Arai-San with Malaysia Callsign 9M2WZI. Since that he has latest HF set, this unit was left in his closet sometimes ago. Therefore I offer myself to take it back and use it.

So here, at my shack...
This is the unit that power the antenna. I have quite a numbers successful DX contact with it. Frequency supported up to 10M band. I use it for my DX contact on 10m band, and be SWL on lower band.

some more coming up... I will talk about it!

Today I will be observing PASSOVER

This is what our Old testament bible said:

Exodus 12: 5 ~ 7:Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats: And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth [14th] day of the same month and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening [of Nisan 14]. And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.

Exodus  12:12 ~ 14: For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night [Nisan 14], and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD. And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt. And this day [Nisan 14] shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.

As for us today, we will go to Church in solidarity go forth and knee before the cross and exercise our passover by holy communion.

A bit of religious! I hope reader who arrive my blog, hope you don't mind.

As I arrive home from work late. Switch on my FT-900, thinking of getting a station to have a QSO. Watch my watch is almost touches 9pm Local time. I can only heard a beacon from Indonesia.

YB9BWN/B, UTC: 12:54, Signal: 599, Freq: 28.224Mhz, Mode: CW Beacon

Came in very strong, yet there is no Indoensian station at 10M band

Lately the 10M band has nothing to offer. Bad condition and some of my friend say NG condition.

Another good way to improve english is to make a contact with oversea station. Often my contact will end up with English language. Even from China, Japan or Hong Kong they do speak english when sucessfully making contact at HF frequency.

Here is a local paper coverage - The Star - Improve English the Ham Radio Way published on Monday 06 April 2009.

Promoting to school is a good way to promote what Ham Radio can do to oneself and also towards society. They will have access to science and electronic via Ham Radio.  The most important is to give them a opportunity in accessing into HF band that could give more enjoyable contact than via station.

Some others country has started to have students to have license to operate. Example of country Japan and US.

A good start for the school conducting Amateur Radio exhibition. I heard many school is doing it.

A colleague of mine just pay a two days quick visit to the island where all thing is non-taxable - Langkawi. Cheap alcohol, cheap cigarette, cheap car almost everything is cheap.

And she brought back a bottle for me to get drunk. Blue Nun Dry Gin with 11% of alcohor level.

Is tough to rebuild website that has 3 years of history.

Now I have to climb up slowly the long winding stairs to start build this site back to those glory years!

Let me tell you what has really happen to 9w2cbl.blogspot.com

One damn joker hack into my gmail account and grab all my contact that I had made and release out a fantastic news, that I right now in Africa, need your help to bank some amount of money inorder to bail me out from the miserable life that I current facing. And I tell you that all this are damn craps, craps and craps. This is the work of someone irresponsible crazy soul, that has nothing to do in their life, bored of their life, so disturb others people normal life like me.

What really hit me is that everything gone just a couple of hours. I was happily accessing my gmail account on the night of Sat 4th April. Go to sleep happily and come Sunday 5th April earlier morning when i receive my first call - 9M6YBG, asking me all sort of question such as, Where are you? Are you in trouble? Do you need money? and I said huh? I don't need that!.. then the rest is history...! I can't access my gmail, worst still I can't go into my blog - 9w2cbl.blogspot.com and update.

My miserable life of Sunday start. My phone has being ringing non-stop with call and sms.! I should say Thank You to the hacker who makes my normal Sunday become a busy Sunday.

So that is the story there! Right now with this blog revive, this site will take over what 9w2cbl.blogspot.com has done for the pass 3 years.
